Rolo Tomassi Announce New Album, ‘Where Myth Becomes Memory’

For the last seventeen years, Sheffield, England-based group Rolo Tomassi has become one of the most creative bands in metal. They took metalcore and introduced elements from shoegaze and dream pop to create a fresh style of progressive rock songs that one moment sound beautiful and lush and then the next turn chaotic and intense. This level of technical skill and musical innovation not only has led Rolo Tomassi to be successful recording artists (their last album alone had 7 million streams on Spotify), but as live performers as well. Rolo Tomassi have become headliners not just in their native United Kingdom, but also throughout the European Union, Russia, Australia, Japan, and the United States.

Rolo Tomassi has just announced that their sixth album Where Myth Becomes Memory will be released on February 4th, 2022, via MNRK. Last August the band released their first single off the new album entitled, “Cloaked.” Coinciding with the band’s album release date announcement was the debut of the second single and its accompanying music video, “Drip.”

These singles are the first new music fans have heard from Rolo Tomassi since their highly regarded 2018 album, Time Will Die and Love Will Bury It. These last two albums combined with their 2015 release Grievances can be considered a trilogy. With Where Myth Becomes Memory being the closing chapter, the creative evolution of Rolo Tomassi can be fully realized.

"This is a really important album for all of us,” said keyboardist James Spence. “Of anything we've done, it's the one I'm most proud of. I think it's the most ambitious and creative that our band has ever sounded and something that we've all needed to get through the last few years. We can't wait to share it and to have you help us bring it to life."
