SPIRIT IN THE ROOM Announces Tour Dates
The Los Angeles rock outfit SPIRIT IN THE ROOM will be hitting the road next month in support of their label mates King Parrot on a portion of their headlining tour. They will be appearing at the Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego dates. Additional support will be provided by Filth Is Eternal. This journey will be followed by their previously announced shows opening for the icons in Pantera with support from Lamb Of God on their upcoming Western US shows. Each show will be in support of their Flamingo EP, which was released last year via Housecore Records.
If you ever wondered what goes on in the mind of a film noir hitman, horror novel asylum inmate, or a golden age silver scream villain, it might sound something like SPIRIT IN THE ROOM. The Louisiana-born and Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Dennis R. Sanders creates the vision of unfurls of cigarette smoke, cheap booze, and creates distortion like an anachronistic fever dream with a soundtrack by a collision of gothic vocal hues, immersive alternative subculture, and jarring metallic catharsis. His music is scary at times, other times it's sad. However, the emotion of Flamingo is often unpredictable.
SPIRIT IN THE ROOM is and always was comfortable in the dark. Sanders was originally met as part of Black Light Burns, however, he introduced SPIRIT IN THE ROOM during 2010 before revealing a series of projects. These include The Holy Phobia Pt. 1 EP (2014), Demons (2015), and SPIRIT IN THE ROOM Vol. 1 EP (2019), as well as various singles in between and a countless amount of live shows. Along the way, the band has performed on bills with the likes of Deftones, ††† (Crosses), Scour, and many more.
During the pandemic, Sanders went through a heightened level of hell on Earth. He left one chaotic environment to “live in a room in a big house in the true Los Angeles neighborhood of El Sereno” as a part of a situation “that got increasingly violent” when all was said and done, he found himself sleeping in his truck, at the studio, or at a girlfriend’s place as he wrote and recorded Flamingo.
