Starset in Nashville, TN

It’s a chilly night in Tennessee as the Starset messengers line the sidewalk outside the Brooklyn Bowl. The time is 6 pm on December 8th and the countdown to the Nashville demonstration has begun. Once inside, anxious concert goers explore the unique venue in search of the perfect spot to enjoy the show.

Before we knew it the first support band of the night is set to take the stage. All Good Things band, fronted by Dan Murphy, just returned to the tour after a brief covid related break. They performed several songs from their most recent album, Hope in Hell. They even threw in an impressive cover of Destiny Child’s Survivor, that had everyone singing along. Murphy’s vocals were on par, Liz Hooper and Andrew Bojanic provided some angelic backup vocals while strumming away on their guitars, Miles Franco rocked every part of the stage with his ESP guitar and Tim Spier went hard on the drums. This band never disappoints live. You can even catch them hanging out at their merch table to take photos with fans after their set.

Now that everyone has warmed up, it was time to mosh with The Word Alive. The band's current lineup includes Tyler (Telle) Smith on vocals, Zack Hensen, and Tyler Ross on guitar with Matty Madrio on drums. The foursome came out swinging with their song Monomania and the crowd went wild. Everyone was throwing their horns up screaming along to every song. Their fans went hard and even started a decent mosh pit before they ended their set with Why Am I Like this? This band's energy is electric and you can't help but keep your eyes glued to the stage and hang on to their every move. The guys even invited fans to party with them in Nashville after the show.

The countdown is finally over and the Nashville demonstration is in full effect. As a white curtain rises, so does the excitement. The messenger's screams and applause echo through the building and the intro to the Breach begins to play. As the suspense builds, a silhouette of Dustin Bates appears on the backlit curtain. Once it drops you find yourself absolutely mesmerized by what’s in front of you. The seven-piece band brings you an arena-level performance from the comfort of an intimate venue. They don’t hold back on the visuals and costumes, everything about this show is beautifully orchestrated. Ron DeChant and Brock Richards stun on guitar and Adam Gilbert shows off his unmatched skills on the drums. The addition of Siobhán Richards on violin, Zuzana Engererova on cello, and Cory Juba on guitar and synth, add an otherworldly element to their live show. Just when you think it can’t get any better they re-appear after a short interlude in space suits and darker attire. They seamlessly move through the setlist of new and old songs and even squeeze in a Metallica cover. Each song and set of visuals seem better than the last. But sadly the Nashville demonstration has come to an end and they leave on a high note with My Demons.
