The Driver Era in Tempe, Arizona

On August 29th, The Driver Era made a stop in Tempe, AZ, at The Marquee Theatre with support from Summer Salt. The duo, made up of Rocky and Ross Lynch was accompanied by their brother Riker Lynch who played with them in now disbanded family band R5. The venue was packed full of fans of all ages anticipating the moment that The Driver Era would take the stage. Summer Salt got the night going and the energy flowing. Fans did not let the warm venue get to them as they danced the night away.

Excited fans led chants of “Austin Moon,” “Rocky,” and “Ross” before the band took the stage, even singing the Austin & Ally theme song at one point from the Disney Channel show that Ross Lynch previously starred on. The room broke out in cheers as the brothers took the stage, excitement drowning out the sound. Fans threw gifts on the stage throughout the entire set, many of which were cowboy hats and sunglasses that the boys donned while performing. They played “Malibu,” a single from their upcoming album Summer Mixtape, which is due to release this Friday, September 16th. The fans loved it, singing along to the song. They also played some fan favorites like “Preacher Man” and “Heaven Angel” before breaking out R5 classics, “Loud” and “Cali Girls”. The throwback songs hit their spot, with veteran fans enjoying the nostalgia. The band even broke out with a fun cover of Michael Jackson’s “Rock With You,” displaying their dance moves for all to see. Way too soon, they ended the night with songs “Afterglow” and “A Kiss”.
