Tobias Dray Releases Single ‘Maya’
The once in a lifetime chatroom encounter turned once producer into song writer. Tobias Dray’s dreamy melancholy song tells the story from the point of view of a boy who falls madly in love with a girl named Maya or maybe it's the moment? Dray states over some TikTok videos that “Maya is not a love song” and that it is not a ‘friendship song’ but he has since posted videos of him flying to see the girl that inspired the song as well as some behind the scenes of the music video and him filming her reaction to the song which you can see here.
Dray has still not specified what Maya is about after saying it is neither about love nor friendship. In pure speculation, the song brings out this feeling of a future core memory taking place, a moment that you want to live in forever and not knowing the person in front of the camera but knowing them in the moment is more than enough.
Dray is still teasing the release of the music video with Maya, stating on an instagram post on Monday that there will be a ‘music video next week’.
