Toxins Release 4 Song EP "Recovery Room"
Formed during the pandemic, San Diego’s Toxins released a 4-song EP Recovery Room following the release of their single “You Missed a Doozy”. Although they have been in the punk scene for years, Branson, Gui, Ale, and Matt started playing together in the late summer of 2020 with Sean joining in the early fall to solidify the lineup.
"The song is about struggling with depression, that feeling of wanting to disappear and appreciating what/who you have in life," Toxins vocalist Matt Watkins explained.
The objective became clear early on; they wanted to play all the songs they loved and inspired them when they were young, with their own take, energy, and fire. All members have played in a myriad of genres of music, but melodic, aggressive punk has always felt like home.
The new four-song EP titled “Recovery Room” shows the growth as a band in the last 6 months. The songs were produced by the band with the recording process led by bassist Ale. The mix and master, this time was handled by Alexandre Capilé, a renowned Brazilian producer.
