Crawling out of the grips of addiction, depressions and the never ending drawl of a 9-5 New Orleans natives and cousins, Scott Arcenaux, Jr. a.k.a. $crim and Aristos Petrou a.k.a. Ruby da Cherry landed in the underground hip-hop scene in early 2014 where they would release their first EP, ‘Kill Yourself Part I: The $uicide $aga’ on Soundcloud.

After gaining attention, the duo would collab with other underground artists which in turn led to the 2015 release of their first album. Just one year shy of their 10 year span, the duo has announced their massive 40-date US tour which includes performances at career defining venues like the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, Madison Square Garden in New York, Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver and also selling out 20,000 tickets to the Phoenix Raceway.

Each Friday in May, the cousins released a part in their 4-part EP saga, titled the ‘YING YANG TAPES’ with each of the EP named after one of the 4 seasons, spring, summer, fall and winter. Lyrics videos for each of the songs are being dropped on YouTube aside from an animated video for  ‘5 ‘N THE MORNIN’ that was animated and directed by Tristan Zammit.

$uicideBoy$ will be on tour starting in August with support from Ghostemane, City Morgue, Freddie Dredd, Semetary and Rameriz.

My love for concert photography came from my scrolling on tumblr in my high school years, growing more after attending Warped Tour in 2012. Earning my associates degree in the arts from Cochise College in 2017, I started hunting for my next goal. I began my photojournalism journey in 2019 after working for my local newspaper taking shots of anyone and anything. I have a background of short documentaries, video interviewing and editorial shots. My friends tell me I have a plethora of band/music knowledge that I now hope to put to good use.
