Vampires Everywhere! Release New Single “Death of Me” Accompanied By New Music Video
Watching horror films, you would see that monsters are terribly hard to kill. You can stab, them, shoot them, set them on fire and they will still find a way to rise and wreak havoc for the next sequel. The same can be said for horror rockers Vampire Everywhere! who are now in their second comeback. Their return EP The Awakening will be released through Cleopatra Records on October 1st, just in time for the witching season.
"The resurrection of Vampires Everywhere! has officially begun,” said lead vocalist Michael Vampire. “I am beyond excited to welcome our second single “Death of Me” into the universe. I needed this song! I needed to revisit a part of myself I forgot all about. I’ll never reject my Warped Tour roots and I’m proud to be an old scene kid. I feel this song brings all the nostalgia back and rival albums like Kiss the Sun Goodbye that so many people fell in love with.”
Vampires Everywhere! released two albums, the aforementioned Kiss the Sun and their sophomore release Hellbound and Heartless before they rebranded as The Killing Lights. The name change was due to Michael Vampire’s near-fatal car accident that influenced him to go in a new direction both musically and aesthetically for his creative project. The change was short-lived, and the band recorded their third album, The Ritual, under the Vampires Everywhere! name. Less than a year after releasing The Ritual, the band broke up with Michael Vampire later forming the group Dead Girls Academy. This second comeback has Michael Vampire embracing the dark aesthetics that he originally explored when Vampires Everywhere! was first formed.
“I’m confident being back in my dark realm & toying with the occult,” said Michael Vampire. “It’s been my comfort zone for so long. It was extremely hard leaving this comfortable space when I started Dead Girls Academy. At this stage in my life, I need to play what I love and live in the skin I was given. I feel being back in Vampires Everywhere! has revived me musically and as an artist.”
The return to the macabre can be seen in the video for “Death of Me” which is the second single off The Awakening. In the video, Michael Vampire conducts a séance with mysterious, hooded figures. Even the production details of the video are bizarre.
As Michael Vampire explains, “It was an absolute pleasure shooting the music video for “Death of Me.” We shot it in Las Vegas at an actual haunted mansion near the Vegas strip. To make things crazier we shot it on Friday the 13th. The energy in the house was amazing and pushed me to be my best self. I had all the elements that I love including a vintage hearse. Big thank you to the master Randy Edwards for bringing my ideas to life. It’s not easy translating evil-type shit.”
Vampires Everywhere! is set to go on a 21-city tour starting October 1st and ending on the 30th. No doubt they are taking Halloween off to enjoy more of that “evil-type shit” for themselves.
