WARMEN Releases "A World Of Pain" Animated Video
Warmen is back and their latest album Here For None is already hailed as a “melodic death metal masterpiece.”
Originally a side project of keyboardist Janne “Warman” Wirman of Finnish death metal band Children of Bodom, Warmen has evolved into an established band that can stand on its own merits. Janne Wirman co-founded Warmen with his brother, the guitarist Antti Wirman as a “playground” for the two to experiment and have fun. The brother recruited a fine line-up of metal musicians including bassist Jyri Helko, drummer Seppo Tarvainen, and vocalist Petri Lindroos from the folk metal band Ensiferum. The Wirman brothers reactivated the band in August 2023 with a greater sense of purpose and the latest release, Here For None displays a great maturity for the band.
Right away Here For None was a hit with metalheads. The album entered the Finnish and German charts in its first week of release. On Spotify, Here For None has been streamed over a million times. Warmen is now set to conquer video-sharing platforms with the release of their latest music video, “A World Of Pain.”
The video for “A World of Pain” features a thrilling battle between skeleton hordes on a nightmarish planet. The imagery was fully animated by students in the Bachelor Of Design (Animation & Interactive Media) program at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia.
“We're delighted to announce that we've now got an animated video from RMIT University, and we have to say, it's fantastic. It's an incredible visual firework that matches our song, ‘A World Of Pain’ which is probably the most brutal song on the last album. It's always fun to play it live. It’s very different from what we've ever done before. Have fun watching it!”
- Warmen band statement
Aaron McLoughlin and Simon Norton produced the “A World of Pain” video. The two producers collaborated with their team for over 3000 hours to create the video. The result is mind-blowing and McLoughlin himself was impressed with the result.
"Our first impression of the track was how epic the raw emotion sounded, so we really wanted to convey that sense of scale,” said McLoughlin. “As always, the talented RMIT animation students never fail to impress, and they conceived this brutal off-world setting where big things occur. The concept art was so fantastic, we immediately knew we must incorporate lots of visual effects with the hand-drawn animation, much more than we’d ever done previously. I’m super proud of the result – it’s a planet-crushing track and the team worked countless hours to visualize the power of Warmen!"
Here For None will be released via Reaper Entertainment on August 18th and will be available on vinyl, digipak CD, and digital formats.
