The Los Angeles based alternative rock trio formed in 2015, members Cameron Boyer (vocals and guitar), Brennen Bates (bass), and Cameron Olsen (guitar) gained inspiration by revisiting some of their favorite artists and 80s/90s influences establishing their unique and insanely catchy grunge and synth-pop rock distinctive sound.
Weathers released their breakthrough pop-rock and energetic single, “Happy Pills” a year later from the initial start that has now accumulated over 164 million Spotify Streams. They later released their EP, “Kids In The Night” in 2018 consisting of 10 tracks. The band then dropped their second EP, “Pillows and Therapy” in 2021 featuring fan favorites such as “C’est La Vie”, “Losing Blood”, and “Rehab”. In preparation for their new album Are We Having Fun? produced by Jason Suwito (Sir Sly, Imagine Dragons), the band released their lead single, “Where Do I Sign” collecting over 750,000 streams on Spotify.
Their new highly rockin’ and addictive single, “ALL CAPS” encompasses the strong ability of a powerful introduction to a brand new album cycle.
“ALL CAPS” is an outburst of rushing emotions about a collapsing romantic relationship that appeared to be the beginning of something real. The vocals provided by John O’Callaghan dial back the pop melodic nature of the song and direct the energy towards a punk rock sound by adding a dangerous edge. Throughout the track, vocal distortions, funky yet riveting bass lines, nostalgic synth keys, and guitar riffs all contribute to an infectious head banging and danceable production. The track itself is a signifying start of an explosive new era for Weathers.
Are We Having Fun? is an album filled with retrospective and deep lyrics paired along by merging their old nostalgic sound with a newly ambitious dark and twisted combination. Frontman Boyer explains the creative direction and concept of their upcoming era for Weathers stating that "With our new album, we wanted to not try so hard. Instead we wanted to dig deep from our past and pull from music we listened to growing up. In the end, we got a body of work that's a little heavier, more raw, and way more emotional and honest than anything we've done in the past."
Based on the two newly released singles, Are We Having Fun? is expected to be one of Weather’s best projects to date. Weathers is bound to explode creating a chart topping album with their ambitious and creative minds.
