Wild Planes Take On NYC

On the night of June 25th, 2021 at The Bowery Electric brought the talents of Va Va Voom and Wild Planes! The night was cool calm and collective. Oh, wait that wasn’t the weather that was the talent!

From the start of arriving watching the line of people stack it was assured to be a wonderful night. As I made my way into the door I was greeted by Kris Carmello the frontman, guitarist of Wild Planes from our greeting to making our way to the stage, I knew that there was an energy in him that I haven’t seen in such a long time. As we made our way on stage he introduced me to his bandmate the talented drummer Andre Jevnik. To say I was in presence of lyrical and rhythm geniuses was as close I could formulate with words at the time. Then I was pleasantly introduced to their fill-in bassist hailing from lovely France the talented Camvidal.

Questions were fired back and forth between us it was time to get to the fun work of doing some photos! As we made our way to the back it was nice to look out from the stage to see the venue packing in. Then we got down to business, you could hear the roaring crowd ready for tonight’s show! We got some stellar candids and great smiles all around. When we finished Va Va Voom took the stage and we watched the people from the bar haul ass to the stage to see some of New York’s finest!

As songs were booming through the atmosphere felt like I was finally free of the worry of Covid-19! The feeling to be able to pick up my camera again felt as good as seeing the smiles and hearing the screams of the masses all around me. When Va Va Voom had concluded Wild Planes took a flight to the stage and thus began their set! The sparks were already flying with the crowd of absolute joy to the pure enjoyment showcases on the band's face made it so rewarding to capture! As the songs echoed through the hearts of family and friends all around them you could see how wonderful this band truly is. People joined the stage to sing with them it was seriously poetic to see how music has always been such a connected art through the years! Lastly, I want to say the breakout in over a year to capture this event was remarkable as well as a night of smiles and happiness!
