10-19 & The Number Men on “Radar” and Being In A Band
What’s the general writing process with 10-19 & The Number Men? Does one person come to the table with an idea and you build off of it? Does someone come with everything and fine-tune it? Tell us about it!
The process is pretty organic. We share a lot of ideas, demos, and recordings with one another so most songs develop through our regular exchanges.
Was this process used in the latest track “Radar”?
Funny enough “Radar” did not come together that way. Joel (our synth player & studio scientist) had the elements of the song — drums, bass, guitar, vocals, etc and got inspired to put it all together.
I know you’re working on more content to release, any live shows or live streams in the works for the summer?
At the moment we don’t have any shows planned but as summer approaches hopefully, we can get out there and play some venues.
What’s your favorite part about being in a band?
My favorite part is collaborating and eating together. We usually have dinner during our practices and sitting down at the same table with everyone is something I enjoy.
What’s the not-so-fun part of being in a band? (Don’t lie, there’s always some hurdle!
The not-so-fun part about being in a band? That’s an interesting one, but it’s like a democracy so sometimes it takes us a while to make decisions.
Since the song is called “Radar”, what bands or artists are on your radar these days?
I like Little Simz, she’s raw!
