Bad Omens Announce New Album The Death of Peace of Mind and Release New Music Video

Los Angeles-based metalcore band Bad Omens has announced that their new album The Death of Peace of Mind will be released on Friday, February 25th, 2022. The album released via Sumerian Records will be the band’s third release. The experience of working on the new album was liberating for lead vocalist Noah Sebastian.

Making the record changed us as songwriters and musicians,” said Sebastian. “In many ways, I feel like it set me free as an artist because every decision made in the writing process was for myself, with no fear for anyone else’s expectations of what our third album should sound like. Be it our fans or our record label.”

The previous two albums from Bad Omens were very well received by metal fans. The band’s self-titled debut album resulted in 20.4 million Spotify streams for breakout songs “Glass Houses” and “The Worst in Me.” The sophomore album Finding God Before God Finds Me saw the tracks “Dethrone” and “Careful What You Wish For” become hit singles for Bad Omens with a combined 18.3 million Spotify streams. With a growing fanbase who appreciate the dark lyrics, crunchy guitars, and screaming vocals of Bad Omens, the band’s next album is highly anticipated.

After seeing their first headlining tour canceled mid-way due to the global Covid-19 pandemic, Bad Omens decided to make the best of their newfound free time by going into the studio and experimenting. Sebastian along with guitarist Joakim “Jolly” Karlsson wrote, produced, and engineered the album themselves. On mix and master, was GRAMMY-nominated producer and songwriter Zakk Cervini who previously had collaborated with artists such as Halsey, Grimes, Poppy, and Blink-182. Working on the album led the band to try unique methods according to Sebastian who wanted to “make a track sampling items around the house, none of which were musical instruments.

The first single off the new album is also called “The Death of Peace of Mind.” It is a subdued, ethereal song with moments of heaviness. The accompanying music video matches the song with appropriate dark and beautiful imagery.

Sonically, we want to do something you can’t arrive late or early too,” Sebastian said. “You can’t cheat your way to the final act. You have to get on the ride and process it until the end. The songs are meant to be heard from start to finish. We want you to take the whole trip with us.

While you’ll have to wait until the 25th of February when The Death of Peace and Mind drops to take that trip with Bad Omens, you can still catch them live before then. The band is currently on a seventeen-date tour with Ice Nine Kills. Make sure to keep up with them on all of their socials and grab tickets to see them on their website!
