Better Lovers Drop "The Flowering" + Spring Tour Dates
On April 3, 2024 the latest supergroup known as Better Lovers, dropped their new single, The Flowering, off their highly anticipated debut full-length album they have been wrapping up work on after returning to the studio in January with SharpTone Records. This new single demonstrates their explosive energy and the remarkable chemistry the fledgling band already possesses. The song is complemented by an Anthony Altamura directed video that revels in its campiness, showcasing the five-piece outfit as they confront the less-than-friendly aspects of the natural world.
’The Flowering” is a song we’ve been playing live since day one. It came from the same batch as the God Made Me An Animal EP, so it’s nice to finally have it recorded and out there. It’s a perfect example of how Jordan, Mitch, Goose, and Will playing together sounds like an absolute freight train. Being able to play this live so many times before recording it really amplified that even more, really deepened the groove of it, the music swings so fucking hard. Not to mention the video is one of my favorite videos I’ve ever been a part of. The title and lyrics are an obvious metaphor for realizing that we are all more than what we’re conditioned to believe, and acknowledging the collective ‘waking up’ moment that we all seem to be going through right now.”
- Greg Puciato explains
Better Lovers is Jordan Buckley, Clayton “Goose” Holyoak, Stephen Micciche, Greg Puciato and Will Putney. The band, which features former members of Every Time I Die, Fit For An Autopsy and The Dillinger Escape Plan, released their debut single “30 Under 13” in April of 2023, followed by the four-song God Made Me An Animal EP in July. In December they launched an annual holiday event, BLissmas, played annually in Buffalo, N.Y., with the inaugural event, spread over two nights, sold out upon on-sale. Consequence said the band “lives up to its billing,” Revolver instantly dubbed them as “your new favorite supergroup,” and Alternative Press described their initial offering as “ripping.”
With more news, they will be returning to the road this Spring as a very busy remainder of 2024 kicks off, with numerous North American, and European tour dates and festival performances already confirmed.
