Blossoms Announce New Album ‘Ribbon Around The Bomb’ with Release of Title Track

On January 25th, 2022, British band Blossoms announced their upcoming studio album Ribbon Around The Bomb, set to release on April 29th. That same day, they shared the title track of this album along with the music video.

After releasing “Care For” last year, “Ribbon Around The Bomb” is a wonderful introduction to Blossom’s new music. Its dreamlike production, paired with a beautifully psychedelic video, is beautiful and feels like you’re floating. The song is inspired by Blossom’s Tom Ogden’s visit to the house of Frida Kahlo, where “someone had described one of [her paintings] as being like ‘a ribbon around a bomb’”. The band ran with this beautiful imagery in a catchy, flowy song, getting listeners excited for the next chapter of music.

I really enjoyed this track, and I loved “Care For” when it came out. Blossoms have this really interesting and unique sound, with the aesthetic to match. Their music is dreamy and summery, and I hope that Ribbon Around The Bomb continues these good vibes.
