On December 1st, small band MRBLHOUS released a single titled “Honors Student”, following their first release “November”. With a comforting and nostalgic sound, but with fresh faces in the music industry, it’s a great single full of feeling - that “gifted-kid burnout” ideal that oozes into every aspect of your life.
Brittany and the Blisstones Release Video For "Mermaid"
On February 4th, 2022, duo Brittany and the Blisstones release their music video for “Mermaid”, the first track for their upcoming EP. This song is the first song Brittany Bliss ever wrote with Reid Givens.
POORSTACY Releases Video For “Knife Party”
On January 26th, 2022, hip-hop and rock artist POORSTACY released a music video for his track “Knife Party”, from his recent album Party At The Cemetery. Featuring Oli Sykes from Bring Me The Horizon, “Knife Party'', the song is accompanied by a video from POORSTACY’s Los Angeles show last fall.
Generation Kill Release ‘MKUltra’
On January 28th, 2022, thrash group Generation Kill released their new album, MKUltra. This album was released with Blood Blast Distribution and Art Is War Records.
Set It Off Releases "Projector"
On January 21, 2022, alternative music group Set It Off released their new single “Projector”, along with a music video. This song continues to tease their upcoming album, Elsewhere, which is set to release on March 11th.
Blossoms Announce New Album ‘Ribbon Around The Bomb’ with Release of Title Track
On January 25th, 2022, British band Blossoms announced their upcoming studio album Ribbon Around The Bomb, set to release on April 29th. That same day, they shared the title track of this album along with the music video.
Years & Years Release “Sooner or Later”
On January 14th, 2022, artist Years & Years released a new track, “Sooner or Later”. This was the last single released for his album, Night Call, which was released on January 21st.
Stromae Releases "L'enfer" And Announces New Album
On January 12th, 2022, Belgian musician Stromae released new single “L’enfer”. The song will be a track featured on Multitude, which will come out on March 4th of this year.
All Systems Go Release "Don't Let Me Go"
On January 7th, 2022, New Jersey pop-punk group All Systems Go released a new single, “Don’t Let Me Go”. Paired with a music video released on January 14th, this song is a motivating and hopeful song through times of struggle.
Waterparks and the "Greatest Hits" Album
Waterparks has been one of my favorite bands for the past 6 years or so. I’ve watched them release their first full-length album, and I’ve seen them grow from that. In 2021, their album Greatest Hits was released, paired with the “A Night Out on Earth” tour - which I, of course, attended.
Christopher Hill and the Stardust Crush release "The Gravity of the Goddess (No One Else Can Dance Like You)"
On December 17th, musical group Christopher Hill and the Stardust Crush released their new single, “The Gravity of the Goddess (No One Else Can Dance Like You)”. It is paired with a music video, featuring Christopher Hill themself laid over nature and space scenes.
Album of the Year 2021
This year just kept on giving with new albums and singles at every turn. After the hellish 2020 year, we all needed some normalcy in a world of chaos. Every genre of music rolled out new singles for their fans to get back to what we all know and love. Along with new albums, new singles, and tour dates being released, we all can't help but feel spoiled with getting back to what we missed most.
Here at Death Moth Press, we wanted to give you all our opinions of Album of the Year for 2021. It was hard to narrow down to just one but in case you missed it, here’s the albums that made our year.
Left at London Releases Bloodlust
On December 16th, musician Nat Puff - known as Left at London - released a new single, “Bloodlust”. After coming up with the lyrics in an Instagram live and fleshing it out from there, the song took a different musical form and was released as a standalone single.
Angelmaker Release ‘Eclipse’
On December 8th, 2021, Vancouver-based deathcore band AngelMaker released another two-track EP, Eclipse, along with a music video for the lead single “Exit Signs”.
Years&Years Release New Single “Sweet Talker” Featuring Galantis
On November 24th, Olly Alexander - better known as Years & Years, released a new single with Galantis, “Sweet Talker”. This single will be featured on his upcoming album Night Call which you can pre-order here.
Send Me Giants Releases “Chasing New York Skies”
On November 9th, Chicago-based musician John Remp - known as Send Me Giants - released a new single, “Chasing New York Skies”. The Tennessee-born, Chicago-raised artist introduces listeners to his sound, rich with raw lyrics and chords that pull at listener’s heartstrings.
Kitty Junk Release Debut Album ‘Converse Theory’
On October 28th, Seattle “junk-punk” duo Kitty Junk released their debut album, Converse Theory, becoming the pioneers of the junk-punk/junk-rock subgenres. Hard-rock and grunge inspired, fueled by feminism and glam, Kitty Junk’s sound is unique and full of grit. The duo of Angela Dane and Ryan Lee are taking the punk rock scene by storm.
elbow Release Single, "Flying Dream 1"
On November 5th, the band elbow released their new single, “Flying Dream 1”, off of their studio album of the same name.
Flowers on the Grave Release "Icarian"
On October 22nd, Michigan modern-rock group Flowers on the Grave released a new single, “Icarian”, accompanied by a music video.
elbow Releases "Six Words" From Upcoming Album
On October 15th, elbow released another track from their upcoming album Flying Dream 1 which you can pre-order here. The track, “Six Words”, is also accompanied by a film of the creation of the song.
