Bodysnatcher Tears Up Irving Plaza

Photography By Sam Valente

Bodysnatcher delivered a blistering performance reaffirming their status as one of the most intense acts in the heavy metalcore scene. The venue, packed with an eager crowd ready to unleash their pent-up energy, erupted at the opening of “King of the Rats.” From the moment the band took the stage, it was clear that they were there to make an impact. Vocalist Kyle Medina's intense, almost confrontational presence was a highlight of the show. His raw delivery cut through the mix, commanding the crowd. If you weren’t there, you missed out on a set filled with some absolutely crushing breakdowns that made Irving Plaza feel like it was going to crumble from their sheer heft as well as some tributes to fallen family members and friends that made the evening all that much more personal than just sheer heaviness for heaviness’ sake.

Sidenote: “What’s up bitch? Fuck you!” will probably never cease to be one of my favorite openings to a song/album, and works so perfectly to open a show as well
