On September 10th, Cheat Codes released their latest single “Ghost Story”, which features All Time Low. Cheat Codes frequently collaborate with a wide range of artists, ranging from pop stars like Demi Lovato to drummer Travis Barker

This track combines Cheat Codes production style with All Time Low’s signature pop-punk sound, which actually works better than I expected. Cheat Codes music tends to be more in the pop/dance realm, which is extremely different from All Time Low. However, with their recent Travis Barker collaboration and now this song, it seems Cheat Codes are expanding their horizons.

I’d best describe this track as sounding like an All Time Low song, just with the typical instrumentation swapped out for dance music production. It’s a cool new direction for All Time Low, and this collaboration really showcased their range as musicians. Cheat Codes are known for not being bound to one genre, so it’s exciting to see All Time Low exploring different sounds as well.

Lyrically, the song tells the story of being “haunted” by an ex, detailing how their departure has them feeling sleepless and if they’re “bleeding out in the street”. It’s a pretty simple concept, but it’s one that everyone can relate to. The lyrics will definitely resonate with everyone in a different way, which is a great quality for song lyrics to have.

I hope this collaboration opens up doors for All Time Low in terms of exploring a more pop sound, and that Cheat Codes continue to collaborate with pop-punk artists. Overall I think that both artists contributed to this track in awesome ways and that this song showcases the talent and abilities of both groups.
