Crown The Empire Announces New Album, “DOGMA” and Supporting US Tour
Texas based post-metalcore quartet band, Crown The Empire recently announced their fifth new upcoming record, DOGMA, set to be released on April 28 through Rise Records. The band has also revealed their upcoming spring US tour supporting hard-rock band, Nothing More. The album is now available for pre-order which you can purchase here.
First formed in 2010, Crown The Empire consists of Andy Leo (vocals), Brandon Hoover (guitar), Hayden Tree (bass/vocals), and Jeeves Avalos (drums). Their genre bending sound has immersed listeners worldwide by their mixture of alternative rock, metal core, and post hardcore influences. Crown The Empire’s distinctive sound is heard through their vigorous breakdowns and accompanying melodic riffs and vocals highlighting the band’s piercing production.
The four piece band has released four studio albums since their formation nearly a decade later. Crown The Empire dropped their debut album The Fallout back in 2012, subsequently followed by later records, The Resistance: Rise of The Runaways (2014), Retrograde (2016), and Sudden Sky (2019).
As of more recently in 2022, Crown The Empire embarked on a very special and commerative tour celebrating the 10th anniversary of their debut album, The FallOut, marking it as one of the band’s most successful headline tours. Within the same year, they also had the chance to join the fall leg of the Knotfest Roadshow, supporting Slipknot and Ice Nine Kills, establishing this as a huge turning point and achievement for the band.
The new album DOGMA, produced and mixed by Zach Jones, is a representation of the band’s personal journey reflecting back throughout the past 3 years and time spent during quarantine. With the extended time and space to figure out what would follow next for Crown The Empire, the album entails a deeper introspection shown by its lyrical content and maturity.
With the different mindset this era, the raw and blunt directness of the lyrics within DOGMA points towards a change of perspective and determination, generating the album into a collective energy fueled with angst, isolation, and questioning the existential.
By taking a different route in changing the approach and structure of previous released records, Crown The Empire found themselves extending their craft and in search of cultivating their new sound while still maintaining their roots from previous records. Much like with the newly developed creative process and growth within the band, it has taken Crown The Empire to explore new heights.
In utilizing the various aspects of their new found knowledge and self reflection to complete this record, Crown The Empire takes control of the darkness and tackles their fears on their new record, DOGMA symbolizing a new rebirth for the band and their ever evolving and aggressive heavy sound.
