Decadence Arizona - Ancient Future

Many fans rung in the New Year while attending Decadence Arizona: Ancient Future 2022. The two-day EDM festival at Phoenix Raceway in Avondale, Arizona was not an event to miss for Arizonian EDM fans. Many even traveled from out of state to attend the event showcasing artists such as Deathpact, Subtronics, Zeds Dead, and Porter Robinson who closed out the event.

On Friday December 30th, fans packed into Phoenix Raceway despite to the cold weather to watch their favorite artists perform at Decadence Arizona. This years theme was “Ancient Future” and many attendees had thoroughly planned their outfits to fit the theme dressing like they were ancient Egyptians or goddesses and gods from ancient Rome. Others opted for classic rave ware or onesies to fight off the bone chilling weather.

With multiple stages featuring artists from multiple genres there was someone for everyone to see. The stages were packed as soon as doors opened and fans slowly but surely made their way up to the rail so that they could watch their favorite artists perform from up close. Kayzo and DJ Pauly D had sets earlier in the night yet there was no shortage of fans watching them perform due to the stacked line up. Everyone was antsy waiting for Liquid Stranger and Fisher to come on who were closing out the first night of the event.

New Years Eve came quickly after the events of the first night fans were buzzing as they made their way to the stages, piling in for Subtronics’ opening set. After taking a shuffle class on night one and playing dodgeball between the stages fans were ready for the night to begin. Everyone danced the night away as anticipation for the ball drop rose. Louis The Child took the stage and fans knew it was only a matter of time before the new year began.

Having started their tour in Arizona and ending it right back where it started on New Years Eve Louis The Child played a video collage of fans’ best memories throughout the year as their countdown for the new year started. With the crowd counting down with them fans, artists, and staff entered the New Year together with tons of confetti and balloons falling from the ceiling. Experiencing New Years at Decadence Arizona is unlike anything else. There were smiles all around as everyone was excited for 2023 to begin and the night to continue on.

The night did not end after the ball drop, there was still many sets to be played and the crowd was ready. On the main stage, Zeds Dead wound everyone up once again before Porter Robinson brought the event to a conclusion. With Porter Robinson closing out the night fans left the show with smiles on their faces already excited for next year’s events.
