Elohim Releases "Journey to the Center of Myself Vol. 2", Video for "Go Through It"
On August 26th, 2021, Elohim released her latest EP - Journey to the Center of Myself Vol. 2. This is the second installment of this collection of EPs, a four-part project from Elohim’s home studio that goes through her journey of self-discovery, recovery, and everything in between. She also released a music video for “Go Through It”, a raw and real song paired with bright sounds and even brighter visuals directed by Chase O’Black.
Journey to the Center of Myself Vol. 2 focuses on “the dreamer” in Elohim, with a more upbeat dance sound compared to Vol. 1. “Go Through It” is groovy, a powerhouse of an opener, telling how getting through hard times means pushing your way through. “Treat You Better”, another song previously released, is dreamier in sound but still has a strong beat in the background - a perfect song to blast if you’re following the same journey that Elohim is. “Higher” is a range of sounds, with funky piano riffs to a club-ready chorus. “Jammy Coco” has perfect summer vibes, with a driving rhythm and layered vocals. “Dreamer” closes the album out in a calmer manner, tying the whole album together in this fantasy headspace of Elohim’s creation. It paves the way to the next step of her journey, which Elohim states as a “harsh reality”.
Journey to the Center of Myself Vol. 1 had a variety of sounds, ranging from the catwalk-ready “Strut” to the indie-EDM “Journey to the Center of Myself”. These first two EPs of Elohim’s four-part series give listeners so much to look forward to, and we can’t wait to see how much deeper the music gets.
Elohim continues to perform live after her performances at Lollapalooza and Hard Summer Festival. She also supported Alison Wonderland at Red Rocks Amphitheatre and will be appearing at Firefly Festival in Dover, DE on September 25th.
