Fake Dad's New Single "So Simple!"
On 12th December Fake Dad released their new single “So Simple!” that reached a lot of official Spotify playlists. Today I’m going to check it out.
Fake Dad is a LA based duo that consists of Andrea de Varona and Josh Ford. The band’s goal is to create music that ‘understands you’. Thay have an upcoming EP “Holly Wholesome and the Slut Machine”. Fake Dad was created back in 2020 when Andrea and Josh met each other at a party. Since then we can see and hear their project slowly come to life.
“So Simple!” is about putting on a mask and acting like someone you’re not, which is a really big problem, especially in rock music, since a long time ago, and I think it's a very important topic to talk about. It’s a story about men who sing about women they think are stupid in their songs. Andrea de Varona mentions a boy that’s easy to push around. The song is written in two languages which makes it even more interesting than it already is. When the chorus finally kicks in, that’s when the real ‘party’ starts.
I really love the energy that the song gives us after the first chorus. I can’t wait for them to release their EP.
