Flowers on the Grave Release "Icarian"
On October 22nd, Michigan modern-rock group Flowers on the Grave released a new single, “Icarian”, accompanied by a music video.
“Icarian” is a rhythmically intricate song, carried strongly by hypnotic riffs. Kenny Flowers, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, has a strong and familiar voice for this genre. His guitar, paired with lead guitarist Nathaniel Abernathy, bassist Manuel Tello, and percussionist Dan Kesterke creates a stunning and bold sound. Flowers on the Grave states that the song is about “tearing down the barriers we all have in our minds that keep us from reaching our true potential”, inspired by the myth of Icarus. Their prose, layered over haunting melodies and driving rhythms, creates a journey through song - a journey that is highlighted well in their music video for “Icarian”.
Flowers on the Grave will be performing at The Polish Ostrich in Toledo, OH on November 19th, and will be opening for the band Sponge at Chicago Street Pub in Coldwater, MI on November 20th. Keep up with the band on their socials listed below!
