Grayscale Brought The Rain To Mesa, AZ

On Sunday, July 17th, Grayscale stopped at The Nile in Mesa, AZ, on The Summer Dream Tour with support from The Ivy, Bearings, and Guardin. With it being monsoon season here in Arizona, the skies go from clear to dark and cloudy in a matter of minutes, so it was no surprise that the night Grayscale came to town, there would be a storm, especially with all of their songs about rain. It was practically a rain dance waiting to happen.

With the release of their three-song EP “Antumbra”, on the horizon (tomorrow, July 22nd) the night was buzzing with energy. After some technical difficulties during Bearings’ set with their microphones going out and a guitar not working, the storm really hit. We were put on a storm delay and warned of the possibility of the power going out while we waited for Guardin to take the stage. The security cracked some jokes on stage and the crowd’s excitement made the time pass by quickly. Before we knew it twenty minutes were up and the show was back on!

With plenty of excited energy oozing throughout the crowd, it was finally time for Grayscale to take the stage, and they did not disappoint. Kicking off their set ironically with “Let It Rain”, the crowd instantly sang along and danced to the music. Playing fan favorites like “Painkiller Weather” and “Forever Yours”, the Pennsylvanian five-piece kept the crowd entertained for their entire set, completely forgetting the storm raging outside. Fans tossed a beach ball around, and a few crowd surfers made their way up the stage. Lead singer Collin Walsh was constantly encouraging the crowd to dance, and dance they did. Ending the night with a partial cover of “She’s So High” by Tal Bachman following “Atlantic,” the band put on a show that fans were glad not to miss. We are all looking forward to the next time Grayscale visits Arizona.

Presave Antumbra out on all platforms tomorrow, Friday, July 22nd, here!
