IC3PEAK “Dead But Pretty” Music Video

Opposition to Putin’s invasion of Ukraine is growing the world over, including within Mother Russia herself. Mysterious electronic metal musicians IC3PEAK have never shied away from voicing their grievances against the government. This video is further proof of their iconoclastic worldview. The video for “Dead But Pretty” is a protest against the current war. The duo directed and edited the video themselves showing how invested they are in its message.

IC3PEAK has always been associated with macabre and transgressive imagery and “Dead But Pretty” is no exception. The video starts with IC3PEAK eerily rising from their graves. The video then cuts to Red Square where the duo performs in front of a squad of police officers wearing ski masks and brandishing nightsticks. The cops mosh to IC3PEAK’s music resulting in some of the officers bleeding. As Anastasia Kreslina sings her partner Nickolay Kostilev grabs one of the male officers and passionately kisses him, a not subtle protest of Putin’s anti-gay legislation.

“Dead But Pretty” followed IC3PEAK’s releases of the singles “Vampir” featuring Oli Sykes from British rock band Bring Me the Horizon and "Червь / Worm” with Australian rap and metal vocalist Kim Dracula. All three of these singles are featured on their most recent album Kiss of Death which was released back in April.
