Nina Nesbitt Releases "Summer Fling" Acoustic

On August 27th, 2021, Nina Nesbitt released an acoustic version of her most recent single, “Summer Fling”. Released on both streaming services and on Youtube with a video of the performance, this version of the song is stunning in its own unique way.

The original version of “Summer Fling” has been a great success so far, reaching #1 on TikTok UK’s Hot 50. It’s a dreamy, synth-pop ballad that sounds like falling in love. The acoustic version sheds the shimmer and lets the song live out in a more nostalgic tone - a memory of the summer love, instead of the feeling of being in it. It’s beautiful in its own way, and Nesbitt does the tone shift amazingly. The performance of the song is done with guitarist Chris Leonard, at St. Mary’s Bay beach in the UK - Nesbitt’s favorite beach. Her inspiration for the acoustic version came from “going camping in the woods with your friends and sitting around a fire in the early hours of the morning, listening to music.” The song captures this feeling well and shines just as much as the original version.

“Summer Fling” and its acoustic counterpart are perfect songs to start a new era of Nesbitt’s career after the amazing success of her album The Sun Will Come Up, The Seasons Will Change.
