This past Tuesday, September 28th, SadGirl made a stop at the Rebel Lounge in Phoenix, AZ with special guests Female Gaze and Cheap Hotels. It was a night full of great music and a lot of dancing.

First to take the stage was Female Gaze, a Tucson, AZ-based indie group previously known as ‘The Rifle’. They have a very mellow sound that just makes you want to sway in place or dance around. They released a music video back in March of this year for their single “The Joy Of Missing Out” which features lead singer Nelene DeGuzman dancing in front of a projector to the song with her dogs.

Next up was Cheap Hotels, a Tempe-based indie group. The group released a new single back in March of this year titled “you feel like home” which has a sentimental love song feel to it. The band put on a great set, getting the crowd dancing. They performed a cover of “Put Your Head On My Shoulder” by Paul Anka which the crowd absolutely loved, singing the lyrics back to them.

Closing out the night was SadGirl an indie-rock band from, Los Angeles, CA. You could feel the energy and excitement buzzing through the crowd as they took the stage. Halfway through their set a fan gifted lead singer, Misha Lindes with a t-shirt that had a picture of a dog on it with the word “Doge” they later had the whole venue sing “Happy Birthday” to this fan’s friend which was very sweet. Back in August, the band released a new single as well as a music video titled “Goodbye Queenie,” this song is very sad. The band described it as “a goodbye to many things including an old way of life”. They put on a great set and had everyone dancing. Make sure that you check them out on tour right now with WAVVES.

Growing up, her dad was always showing her different kinds of music and is one of the main reasons that she fell in love with the music industry. Her mother also introduced her to the world of photography and helped her learn everything that she could to better her craft. After realizing she could combine the two she found her passion.

Death Moth Press was an idea that seemed so far away but now it’s here!
