Silverstein Make Their First Stop on Co-Headlining Tour in Tempe, AZ

On August 25th, Silverstein made their first stop on their co-headlining tour with The Amity Affliction in Tempe, AZ at The Marquee Theatre with support from UnityTX and Holding Absence. First, to take the stage was UnityTX who put on a great set that got the crowd’s energy going with a mosh pit starting up early in the night. Second, was Holding Absence who pushed through despite some technical difficulties with their microphones not working during the first three songs. They did not let that get them down though and continued performing with vocals going in and out before finishing out their set strong. Finally, Silverstein took the stage.

Starting the night out strong, they walked on stage to “Infinite,” a fan favorite. With it being the tour's opening night, you could tell they were excited and glad to be on stage. From the very beginning, people were crowd surfing, and there was a sea of people going over the barricade during “Bad Habits”. Fans were thrilled when the band played “Whiplash,” singing along to the song. When they suddenly paused, fans knew they had a trick up their sleeve. A Jeopardy-style wheel was brought on stage, and they announced that they would spin it to decide their next three songs to perform. Guitarist Paul Marc spun first, stopping it on “Already Dead,” which he was teased about for cheating but, they played the song anyway. Lead singer Shane spun the wheel next, landing on “Stand Amid The Roar”, and guitarist Josh spun last, landing on “Massachusetts”. This was a fun and entertaining way to choose songs to play out of the many they have released over the last couple of decades. Too soon, though, they ended their set with “The Afterglow” before The Amity Affliction took the stage, closing out a great first night.
