Tales From the Pit: Sonic Temple Festival

On May 26th and 27th, I got to see many amazing bands at Sonic Temple Festival. During the festival I had many amazing opportunities, these opportunities allowed me to be really close to some bands and to take some photos for them.  Although I did not have my camera with me or a photo pass I used whatever I had on me to create some good enough photos to keep as a memory. During these 2 days I attended I got to see a lot of my favorite bands and knocked them off my concert list, although I was not able to see some of my favorite bands I still had a lot of fun.

During some of the sets the pits were crazy for example seeing Knocked Loose had many Mosh pits and even a wall of death. I was close to the front and my sister was complaining about all these people crowd surfing, she ended up doing something really bad during that time. The one thing you should never do at a metal show is to make them duck down and make them fall over. She was trying to protect me but instead she ended up hurting me but it was okay since she does not really know how metal shows can be.  We ended up finishing the first night by watching Avenged Sevenfold, they put on such an amazing show and made me love their music even more.

On Saturday the 27th, I got to see many more of my favorite bands like Avatar and Kiss, and a lot more. Just like on Friday everyone had a really good set, I even got to hear many bands I heard before and ended up liking them.  A new band to me was Over The Moon. My sister and I were waiting for Dead Poet Society but we didn’t know that they had canceled. Her and I really enjoyed their set. I was handed a small poster for their upcoming tours and it was really cool.

Now for the best show I have seen all night was Kiss, I have always wanted to see them perform live and it finally happened. During their show they had fireworks going off and had fire coming out when they performed some of the songs. There were amazing solos during the outfit changing and getting other equipment, they were also really interactive with the crowd.

I hope to see a lot of these amazing and newer bands in the future, thank you Sonic Temple for an amazing time!

Keep up with the Bands
