Generation Kill Release ‘MKUltra’

On January 28th, 2022, thrash group Generation Kill released their new album, MKUltra. This album was released with Blood Blast Distribution and Art Is War Records.

Generation Kill teased listeners with a few singles before this album’s release. The opening song, “Never Relent” featuring Gary Holt, was released alongside “Rat King” and “Into The Black”. These songs, as well as the other tracks, make for a journey for listeners. It has strong riffs, as well as a stunning vocal range from frontman Rob Dukes. The melodic pieces mixed with the harsh and dark baseline of the album make for what Dukes called “a rollercoaster ride”. As all great music does, it lyrically forces the listener to do some introspection, as well as look around at the state of the world today - it makes a statement, and it sounds amazing. With some killer features and musical prowess from Generation Kill, MKUltra is a great album that serves its purpose well.

This album goes hard as hell, to say the least. This genre isn’t one of the ones I listen to often, but when I do, I like it when it’s done well. There’s passion and power in Generation Kill’s music, and MKUltra is quite the trip. With 14 years under their belt, you can tell the band’s experience has served them well.
